Deventer Verhaal is an independent organisation for cultural heritage that works closely with numerous cultural organisations within the city of Deventer and wider region.
Museum De Waag presents inspirational, contemporary exhibitions with the Deventer historic municipal collection in a central role. The authentic National Toy Museum operates under the wings of Deventer Verhaal. Both museums house in historic listed buildings that are undergoing major refurbishments and renewals in all visitors spaces.
In the organisationâs transition period, 2016/2017 I was head of interiors and design, responsible for successful delivery of the Deventer Verhaal projects. I was leading design teams and providing a clear communication between staff, education, conservation and architects/designers on several Deventer Verhaal exhibition projects, with emphasis on the master planning and execution of the transformation of the listed Building De Waag into a contemporary museum.
In cooperation with director Garrelt Verhoeven and staff Deventer Verhaal, architects Groen+Schild, lighting Joost de Beij, project management Bart Deddens and Marian Mulder, exhibition design Groen+Schild, Emzee, Caspar Conijn and Bestwerk.
